July 29 Hike

Hello Folks, Stay-at-Homes and summer visitors,

This week we will wrap up our July hikes with a walk along and near the Marne River with Michel Browne, which will be lovely as usual. Remember, each walker is responsible for his/her own personal and liability insurance.
Here is Michel's info:
The 14 km walk will take us up the hill from the Marne in Lagny-Thorigny to the little village of Carnetin and down to a northern stretch of the loop of the river.  After lunch on the river side, we’ll have to go back up the hill  and down to the southern part of  the loop and back to the station along the river.
Meeting place in the Lagny-Thorigny station, third stop from gare de l’Est in Paris on the P line to Meaux, zone 5.  Take the 10:03 train from Gare de l’Est and I’ll meet you around 10:30 in the Lagny-Thorigny station.
Return to Paris Gare de l’Est is from the same Lagny-Thorigny station zone 5 again, train every half hour.

Hike for July 22

This coming Wednesday Judy will be our leader. Here is her info:

Dear Fellow-stay-in-Paris- for- the- summer- Walkers ,

This walk of 20.5 km starts in Dourdan and goes North for a change ( we will not be going around the town this time ) . We will go past a couple of chateaux and some old farmhouses in the morning and then in the afternoon it will be mostly wooded. Undulating but really nothing difficult. We will end in St Cheron . No real possibility of shortening this walk I am afraid .

Bring lunch , lots of water , sun hat , sun cream , bug spray , or if the forecast is for rain bring waterproofs . Wear suitable footwear for a long hike . The path is a little overgrown in places so you may wish to wear long trousers ( I may well ignore this warning ! )

TRAVEL INSTRUCTIONS

I SHALL DRIVE SO WILL SEE YOU AT DOURDAN

Take RER C train DEBA at 8.47 from Austerlitz or 8.50 from Bibliotheque Francois Mitterand to Dourdan (that is the final destination of the train) arriving 9.50 . If you want to travel together I suggest you travel in the last carriage of the train.
Return trains from St Cheron are half hourly at 17 and 47 minutes past the hour and probably we will make either the 16 .17 or 16.47.
Both these stations are in zone 5.

Hopefully see some of you on Wednesday  (or at least one of you otherwise I shall be lonely *:( sad )
Judy
