Hike for 30 August

Esbly  -  22 k - No bailout

Dear walkers,

Lucie and myself managed a recky hike last week.  We invite anyone who wishes to join up with us this  Wednesday,
to repeat our experience.

Getting there:
Meeting point: Gare de l'Est
Time: 9.15 , for 9.30 train, Direction MEAUX, get off at Station ESBLY;
Length of journey, 30 minutes, zone  mobilis more expensive that A/R ticket)
Return journey from Esbly, trains around 16.25, 16.56 , every half hour)

On arrival at GAre d'Esbly very quickly we will be walking along the banks of the Grand Morin River.  When we have gone through the village of Couilly Pont aux Dames, we will embark on a little climbing through woods, cornfields, eventually arriving in the park of Quincy Chateau where we'll stop for lunch.  After lunch, we'll be crossing over the Dhuis aqueduc, some more fairly easy climbing up and down, negotiating the path through the Mareuil forest but ending up on a delightful path along the banks of the Canal de Meaux (sometimes the silence disturbed by the engines of passing barges), arriving quite near Esbly Train Station.  And there's a café just opposite the Station!

Best wishes

Cathy,

Along the Vaucouleur river - 20 km

Dear hiking friends,

The Vaucouleur river is a small river which ends into the Seine river, near Mantes la Jolie.
We will follow its valley through small villages before returning to Mantes.
The hike is about 20 km, no bail out, not too hard (about 350 m of elevation).
As usual, take a picnic lunch, water and of course, shoes and clothing adapted to the season without forgetting your good mood.

 Getting there :

From Paris-St Lazare Train to Bréval at 9h07, arriving at Mantes la Jolie at 9h42   Meet up in front of the platform, travel in the rear car with the group if you wish.

Then exit at the bus station of Mantes la Ville (left hand side) and take the bus, line K, which starts from quay 21 at 10:02 direction "Buchelay" (Zone 5). Get off at "Marronniers" (Ask  the driver, if need be)  where I will be waiting for you.

Return by the same station.

See you on Wednesday.
