Ile de France Walks does Wednesday hikes in the Paris region. About half of us are English-speaking French. The rest are other English-speaking people from a wide variety of nationalities. Walks are free, and there's no need to sign up in advance. Just show up in good time, tickets in hand, at the meeting place indicated below.
This hike of 17 km on flat ground will lead us through woods in the northern part of the forest of Saint Germain to the pond of Corra.
From Breuillet Village we climb up the hill to the Porte des Bourdeaux and Saint Yon church and then follow the path to the village of Boissy sous Saint Yon where we will visit the Saint Thomas Becket church. As the name implies this church was associated with Thomas Becket when he fled to France after quarrelling with King Henry II of England. After his infamous murder in Canterbury Cathedral in 1170 he was canonised and his tomb became one of the most visited pilgrimage sites in Christendom. We then head for the village of Saint Sulpice de Favières in the Renarde valley where we will have our lunch next to the church regarded as one of the most beautiful village churches in France and once a major pilgrimage stop. After lunch we gently follow the Renarde (fox) stream to the lovely villageof Souzy la Briche. Unfortunately we can't visit the charming château which was once a Presidential weekend retreat!!From Souzy we climb up the hill and finally to Saint Cheron RER. For those who want a slightly longer walk we can continue from Saint Cheron back to Breuillet Village along the l'Orge river (4km).Since we will be visiting so many churches I'm sure that the Almighty will ensure good weather, but just in case come prepared!!

We'll have a nice spot for picnic near l'étang de Triveaux (a little buvette nearby for a cup of coffee).
It will be very hot so remember to bring the head covers and lots of water.Getting there:
From Châtelet Les Halles take RER B at 9:02 direction Robinson ( from Denfert Rochereau 8 minutes later). Arrival at Robinson at 09:28, zone 3. one way ticket 2,80 €. At Gare de Robinson walk to the head of the train then to the right and take the exit Avenue Jules Guesde.
The meeting place will be at the top of the stairs.
Return from Meudon Val Fleury to Paris, RER C zone 3

Looking forward to seeing you on Wednesday,Dominika
Longer walkParmain – 25 kmDear hiking friends,This week, a “sportive” loop from Parmain to Parmain via Nesle la Vallée (where is a good bakery & pastry shop).
The hike is about 25 km, no bail out (except if you have a map), and almost 500 m of elevation. Steady pace so as not to come back too late. The course has many changes of direction, so I count on you to stay together and be attentive.
As usual, take a picnic lunch, enough water and of course, shoes and clothing adapted to the season without forgetting your good mood.
Getting there:
From Paris-Nord Train POVA at 8h00 Line H dir. PERSAN BEAUMONT, arriving at L'Isle Adam-Parmain at 8h49 where I will be waiting for you. Zone 5, single ticket 7.10€. This train is usually at street (top) level, if you're not familiar with Gare du Nord, arrive early enough. Return by the same station, trains every 20 or 30 minutes.
See you on Wednesday.
