Hike for 8 November 2017

Nanteuil sur Marne -  17km                                         

Dear walkers,

This week, I propose to walk about 17km in eastern Ile de France (200 m of elevation).

We will start at Nanteuil sur Marne. In the morning, we will begin walking among vineyards.The vineyard is the closest one to Paris which produces Champagne. After 2.5km, there is a big hill up 75 m, through a grapevines, but no worries, we will have plenty of time. At the top, a splendid view of the Marne valley awaits us.

Then we will walk through woods and along the river that we will follow for a good while. Some gentle ups and downs to visit Chamigny and we will end the walk at La Ferté sous Jouarre.

Remember: wear good walking shoes, bring enough water for the day and a picnic lunch, without forgetting yours good mood.

Getting there:

Take the 8.51 train Gare de l’Est, direction Château Thierry arriving in Nanteuil Saâcy at 9.39 (zone 5). We will travel in the rear car with the group.

Return from La Ferté sous Jouarre : there are only hourly trains,15h27,16h27 and I don’t know yet which train we will catch.

NB: Meeting point is at the platform, those who wish to travel together usually sit in the rear car.
