Wednesdays just keep on coming don't they !!
This week I am suggesting a walk of 21 km from Mortcerf to Faremoutiers, firstly in open countryside, past a chateau, then through forest, and lastly along the pretty little River Aubettin . The path is almost entirely flat during the morning and then there are a few gentle undulations in the afternoon but absolutely no difficulties .
TRAVEL
Take train CITU direction Coulommiers from Gare de L'Est at 9.16 as far as Mortcerf arriving 9.57.
Return trains from Faremoutiers - Pommeuse are hourly at 45 minutes past the hour and the one we are most likely to catch is at 16.45 arriving Paris Est at 17.42
Both these stations are in zone 5 so a Mobilis is probably the cheapest option.
We will travel in the last carriage of the train.
Don't forget your lunch , water , sunhat , sunblock , bug spray and suitable footwear ( in order to avoid starvation , dehydration , sunstroke , malaria and blisters - dangerous place Ile de France !!) And of course even in summer there is always the possibility of rain !
