Having just completed the last leg of her St Jacques de Compostella pilgrimage, Prudence (bravo Pru!) is back in great shape and will lead an April Fools' Day hike, no kidding.
Lardy to Breuillet-Village
via St Sulplice de Favieres
This will be a 16km walk with some hills and muddy possibilities; be prepared! Remember to bring sturdy footwear, water, and a lunch snack. On the way we'll see "une des plus belles eglises de l'Ile de France".
We will take the RER C 'ELBA' direction St Martin d'Etampes that passes through St Michel Notre Dame at 9:22 arriving at Lardy at 10:13. I will be on the first car (getting on the train earlier at Chaville Velizy). We will return from Breuillet-Village on a different line of the RER C coming from Dourdan.
Let's hope Spring will be with us!
see you then,
Prudence has sent us this St Sulpice postcard, remarking that with his green gloves, the good saint looks as though he'd just done the dishes.

Wednesday 25 March, Daniel will lead the walk at Crécy, "the Venice of the Brie".
Crécy was famous in medieval times for its international fairs and its 90 towers. The fairs and most of the towers are gone but the river, le Grand Morin, still waters the numerous canals which give the town much of its charm. The pre-impressionist painter Corot lived and worked here.
The walk will take us to nearby La Chapelle sous Crécy and its distinguished collegiate church, one of the high points of gothic architecture in the Ile de France.
Train from Gare de l'Est in Paris to the station of Crécy en Brie/La Chapelle.
- Departure Gare de l'Est 10:29 direction Meaux. Arrive Esbly 11:01.
- At Esbly, transfer (probably by bus) to Crécy en Brie/La Chapelle 11:20. Arrive 11:35.
- Return from Crécy-en-Brie 16:36. Arrival Gare de l'Est 17:27.
Come and visit "la Venice briarde" in Spring. Just bring sturdy shoes and come with us for a lovely walk. Looking forward to seeing you on the hike, let me know if you are coming. > email@example.com

Ellen Vivet writes:
I am doing a walk in Fontainebleau, with François if he is back from India. As usual, the route will be determined by the number of cars vs the number of people.
The train leaves the Gare de Lyon at 10:05, arriving at Fontainebleau-Avon at 10:40. Return trains are twice an hour.
Please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com before 6 PM on Tuesday 17 March if possible. This is important in case the walk must be cancelled.
Thank you. Ellen
Here some pictures taken on the day.

On Wednesday 11 March, I will wait for you from 9.45am in the Hall of the RER C terminus, Versailles Rive Gauche Château de Versailles. No need to contact me, the walk will take place regardless.
Leaving at 10.00am we'll go first through the town and then along the Grand Bassin in the château park.
Picnic is planned opposite the château, at the end of the park. We expect to be back at the same RER station at around 3.00pm.
Let us hope that we will see thousands of snowdrops covering the ground under the trees - a charming sign of the end of winter...
Fresh back from the walk, here are some pictures Martina sent of the day's outing.
