Next Wednesday we have two walks planned, one long and energetic one (28 km) with Daniel Robinot, and a shorter one (13km) with Daniel Perot. Make your choice and head for the trails!
Remember you need personal accident and liability insurance to participate in our hikes. Now on to this week's hike announcements.

And now for Daniel Robinot's info:

Amis randonneurs, bonjour.

A bientôt.
Daniel

Friends hikers, hello. The program for this week, a beautiful hike from St Rémy-lès-Chevreuse (yes, again) but different from last week. ATTENTION, this hike will be long (26 to 28 km), hard (over 650 elevation) and walking will be at a fast pace. A good way to get your calves ready for the Queyras but the all courageous hikers will of course be welcome. This hike will we pass by known places like the Castle of Dampierre but also beautiful passages in forest. Best of all, we will eventually stop at a farm where you can buy milk, eggs, cheese and lots of other good things. So bring money and an extra bag to carry your groceries. The day will be long, so the start will be a little earlier.Getting there: RER B PLIT86, leaving Châtelet-Les Halles at 8:44, arriving in St. Remy-les-Chevreuse at 9:31.Return by the same station, many trains.Shoes and suitable clothing, picnic and water in sufficient quantity, good humor and treats :-)See you soon.

Walks for April 4 and 6

Dear Hikers,

First, here is a reminder for Martina's walk on Monday. That will be followed by Judy's information for the Wednesday walk.

Hello IdF walkers,

The early Easter weekend is over and now let's hope for a sunny early Spring day on Monday April 4, when I offer you to lead a walk along the Seine.

We will start at the Metro 10 end station:  Boulogne Pont de St-Cloud and will then end the walk at Metro 10 station Javel Andre Citroen.

The meeting point is in front of the Brasserie Jean Baptiste which you reach if you go to the end of the metro train, up the stairs and then again up the stairs to the left.  I will be there at 9.45 and we leave at 10.00 direction Pont de St-Cloud.

This is a short and energetic walk of three hours.   Have water and a snack with you and as always the right clothes and shoes.   Please do not bring any walking sticks as they disturb when we walk in a group.

See you in good spirits and accustomed to Summer time.
Martina

Hello once again !

Here is the information to encourage you all to come walking on Wednesday!
This week we will walk in a loop of approximately 20 km in very nice countryside passing through a couple of attractive villages and coming back through the old quarter of La Ferte Alais and its 11th/12th century church. The trail has a few gentle hills ,  but nothing too serious.

TRAVEL
Take RER D from Gare de Lyon, direction Malesherbes, at 8.39 (sorry about the early start but remember "early to bed , early to rise makes a bunny healthy, wealthy and wise " ( or so I was told ) . This train will arrive at La Ferte Alais at 9.41 (zone 5 ) Let's travel together in the rear carriage of the train unless you're reading a good book or feeling antisocial !

Return trains are hourly at 46 minutes past the hour and take just over the hour to arrive back in Paris. The 15.46 is a possibility but the 16.46 a probability.

Spring is unpredictable so look at the forecast , doubt its veracity and bring clothes for all eventualities . Wear stout shoes or boots, be prepared for mud and take note the first toilet stop for modest people is 45 minutes into the walk !
(pas d'arret technique les premiers 45" de la randonnee.)

Bring lunch and plenty to drink.
Hopefully see lots of you on Wednesday.
