Lucie

(Lucie and Cathy have chosen this hike done quite some time ago - hopefully we'll remember the trail!) to replace the planned one along the Morin and Canal de Meaux.  We contacted the Mairie d'Esbly who suggested we put it off as the paths were still muddy after the flooding - you may remember the last itme we planned this the train stopped before Esbly - we call it the doomed hike!!)

Hikes for 21 February

 Dear hiking friends,

here are two options for this Wednesday.

Shorter walk with Dominika

Through valley, park and forest - 12 km, with bailouts

Dear walkers,

As a short option I propose a 12 km walk with some slight ups and downs, just a few km south of Paris.
We will walk through the Vallée aux Loups and Forêt de Verrières to the Parc de Sceaux via Coulée Verte.
It is possible to leave and take bus 194 after 4 km or  bus 294 after 8 km both going to Gare de Robinson and  Metro Chatillon-Montrouge.

Getting there:
From CHATELET-LES HALLES take RER 'B' at 09:32 to Robinson (Or the same train from DENFERT-ROCHEREAU at 9:40 )
Direction: ROBINSON, arriving at 09:59 in Robinson Zones 3
At Gare de Robinson walk to the head of the train then to the right and take the exit Av. Jules Guesde,
The meeting place will be on the top of the stairs.

Return to PARIS:
From the Gare de La Croix de Berny, RER 'B', Zone 3, frequent trains

Please bring some snacks, a picnic lunch, water and good will.

Looking forward to seeing you,

Dominique R.

Longer walk with Daniel R

Rosny/Seine forest - 15 km, no bailout

Dear hiking friends,

This week, I propose a walk from Rosny/Seine to Magnanville between forest and countryside.
A shorter walk that will be preceded by a cultural moment. Rosny is the country of Sully, advisor to king Henry IV.
We will have a quick overview of its castle and a short visit of the St Charles Hospice, and before that ... a surprise.
The hike is about 15 km, (no bail out) not too hard (about 300 m of elevation).
As usual, take a picnic lunch, water and of course, shoes and clothing adapted to the season without forgetting your good mood. The ground will be muddy, your walking sticks could be useful.

Getting there:
From Paris-St Lazare Station, train to Bréval at 9:07, arriving at Mantes la Jolie at 9:42.
Exit by the footbridge, Mantes la Jolie side where I will wait for you to take a bus to Rosny (10min): thanks for going out quickly.
Return by bus from Magnanville to Mantes la Jolie station.
Rosny is in zone 5. If you do not have a pass, buy a Mobilis ticket

See you on Wednesday,

Daniel R.
