Wednesday 2 June on the Viosne

Chateau de Montgeroult

The Valley of the Viosne

This week Claude will lead us on a delightful 12km (100m rise) walk just beyond Pontoise in the Vexin Française, with its typical villages and tall stone crosses, on both sides of the Viosne River, a tributary of the Oise.   It will be a loop starting and ending in the town of Boissy l’Aillerie.  Part of the hike will be on the remains of the famous Roman road, the Chaussée Jules César, which linked Lutece (Paris) with the future Normandy.

Departure:  Gare St. Lazare, 8:58, train GUMI, direction Gisors, which arrives at Boissy l’Aillerie at 9:47 where Claude will meet the group.

Return:  Trains leave Boissy l’Aillerie for Paris at 14:35, 15:39 and 16:48.

Remember the usual picnic lunch, good walking shoes, rain and sun protection.

If you want to be informed of any eventual change, send Claude your cell phone number at claude7.faure@orange.fr .

His cell for the day of the walk is 06 84 14 55 35

See you on Wednesday!
