Hike for 10 October 2018

 Champagne-sur-Seine - Vulaines-sur-Seine/Samoreau - Fontainebleau

Longer walk around 20km, with Laurence
Shorter walk no more than 15km and easier, with Mary Lynne

This hike will start in Champagne-sur-Seine (right bank)
and will end at Fontainebleau-Avon train station, about 20k or 15k.
In the morning, we will walk through the forest and along the river to Vulaines-sur-Seine/Samoreau, after lunch we will cross the river to walk in Forêt de Fontainebleau.

Both walks will follow the same route in the morning. One rock formation (Rocher Samoreau) with some ups and down, not hard.
Lunch spot will be the same. After lunch, the shorter walk will head directly towards
Fontainebleau through the forest, flat ground. The longer walk will follow a longer, a bit more hilly route through the forest.
Wear good footwear. Carry enough water.

GETTING THERE:
-Take train GAMA from Gare de Lyon direction/to Montargis at 9.16, arriving at Melun at 9.43,
then change for train KOHO to Montereau at 9.48 arriving in Champagne-sur-Seine at 10.12 ; Zone 5.
Not much time to change in Melun with some walking to the platform. All will have to make haste.
We will sit in the 4th car from the rear of the train
Departure should be from Hall 1 (main hall-lettered platforms) but check on arrival. I will meet you at Gare de Lyon by the platform.

There is a brasserie next to the train station.

Unless you have a "Passe Navigo” or benefit from discounted fares, buy a "Mobilis 5 zones" for the day

See you on Wednesday!
