Hike for March 9, 2016

Dear Hiking Friends,

Jacques Genin will lead our hike next Wednesday. As you probably know, a strike is scheduled as well for next Wednesday! In case the train you want to take is not running, you might want to set up a car pool among yourselves.

Here is Jacques' proposal:

A 16-km walk around the camp of Satory. We will begin at the railway station Versailles-Chantiers at 10:00. As we can expect no train, the car park would be almost empty... We will go near the Pièce d'Eau des Suisses and through the Bois de Satory and back along the ponds du Moulin à Renard, du Val and de la Geneste. Vertical drop aggregates are + and - 210 m.

Bail out is possible at Saint-Cyr,... if any train...

If no strike, a train would leave Gare Montparnasse at 9:20 and arrive at Versailles-Chantiers at 9:45... Check http://www.sncf.com
Anyway, I'll be there. I'll go on foot.

Notes from ML: I checked the SNCF site this am and they do not list the train mentioned above but the following. 9:06, arriving at 9:20 and 9:58 arriving at 10:10.

The site Vianavigo yields this information:  RER C direction St. Quentin en Yvelines, leaves St. michel Notre Dame at 9:04-9:42 and 9:19-9:57. From La Defense to Versailles Chantiers: 9:29-9:51.
